Yesterday was a momentous day for both Sovereign and our great friends at Silversea. Stefan Shillito, Managing Director of The Sovereign Cruise Club and fellow members of the Silversea Global Advisory Board were given a sneak preview of the game-changing and absolutely incredible new Silver Nova (the greenest ever luxury cruise ship), whilst she is in the final stages of her construction at the Mayer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Silver Nova is so much wider and longer than any other Silversea ship and the pool area, which is uniquely completely open on one side, is much larger than on any other luxury ship, it has a huge wow factor. Even the lead in grade of suite is large, with a large balcony, a three seater sofa, great lighting and large bathrooms with very large showers with a bench to sit on.
During the visit to the shipyard, Stefan was also extremely privileged to attend the keel-laying ceremony for Silver Nova’s sister, Silver Ray. In a touching and poignant gesture, the inspirational Barbara Muckermann (President & CEO of Silversea Cruises) dedicated one of the coin ceremony coins to the Global Advisory Board. A very memorable and special occasion.
