Cunard Line have released some exciting news regarding a major refurbishment being scheduled for the Cunard flagship; Queen Mary 2. The iconic, luxury ship will enter dry dock for a period of 25 days in Germany from 27th May 2016 to undergo the refit.
It has been announced that Cunard will be installing fifteen solo staterooms for single travellers alongside 30 Britannia Club balcony staterooms which will include the same benefits as to what already exists with the 2 berth Club balcony staterooms. These additional staterooms are already on sale as of yesterday for sailings from late June 2016.
Furthermore, the refurbishment will include the addition of ten new kennels on Queen Mary 2 for dogs and cats. As a result, the flagship will be able to carry up to 12 dogs and cats on transatlantic crossings. There will also be a lamp post and fire hydrant on the deck area reserved for dog walking as part of the kennels development.
Angus Struthers, Cunard’s Marketing Director has commented that “these enhancements are just the beginning of an exciting revitalisation for Queen Mary 2, and we look forward to making more announcements about this impressive refit in the coming months.”
As mentioned by Angus, further developments are due to be revealed over the coming months and we will keep you updated with the latest news in future blog posts on our website.
