Jessica Aspin, a senior member of the experienced Sovereign team, recently travelled on the contemporary and luxurious Ventura. She has kindly given us and our clients insight into her wonderful trip, as detailed below.
“I have been lucky enough to sail on board the Ventura, part of her Mediterranean programme over the summer period. The ship was fantastic. Being a quieter time in the season, I expected things to be slowing down on board, but the activities were still in full swing. The ship had a superb atmosphere with the evening entertainment being some of the best I have found. We had the luxury of two comedians on board, being one of my favourite entertainment choices, it was great to have two very different comedy nights to enjoy. They were brilliant and had everyone including myself were in fits of laughter, thereby creating a brilliant buzz on board for the remainder of the evening.”
“The ship itself has been designed very well, with many different bars to enjoy. If it’s a quiet, more relaxed evening, the Tamarind Cove is a great option to unwind after dinner and the evening show. For a more lively evening, Havana is the place to go, a nightclub with a twist. Designed like a Cuban bar, it has the space and the ambience to dance the night away.”
“We stayed in a balcony stateroom, which was of a large size. The colour choice was great, giving it a bright and spacious feel. The balcony itself was very spacious to sit back and relax, while we sail out of port each evening. I would certainly recommend a balcony on this type of itinerary, as the sights were beautiful both coming in and out of the ports each day. A particular highlight was stepping out on top deck to watch the sailing into Venice, classical music was playing while the ship slowly cruised into port, superb views of the Grand Canal and beautiful Venice, something not to be missed.”
“Overall, I would highly recommend the Ventura, with the wonderful restaurant choices and social areas to enjoy, she will certainly make for a trip to remember.”
