Oceania Cruises to Introduce Signature French Restaurant Jacques on Board Newest Ship Allura
Oceania Cruises, renowned as the world’s leading culinary- and destination-focused cruise line, will bring its celebrated French restaurant, Jacques, to its newest ship, Allura, set to launch in mid-July 2025.
Named after the legendary chef Jacques Pépin, the founding father of Oceania Cruises’ culinary philosophy and the brand’s inaugural Executive Culinary Director, Jacques has earned its place as a guest favorite aboard Marina and Riviera. With the addition of Allura, Jacques will continue its legacy of providing an unparalleled French dining experience, further solidifying the cruise line’s reputation for offering the “Finest Cuisine at Sea®.”
The restaurant will also debut on Allura’s sister ship, Vista, in October 2025, joining other acclaimed dining venues such as Polo Grill, Toscana, and Red Ginger on all four of Oceania Cruises’ ships that accommodate over 1,200 guests.
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, shared his enthusiasm:
“Jacques is the cornerstone of our culinary identity, and Chef Pépin has been instrumental in shaping our vision from the very beginning. The addition of this remarkable restaurant to Allura and Vista is a celebration of our heritage, showcasing the passion and excellence that define Oceania Cruises.”
Enhancing the Culinary Experience
The menu at Jacques is a collaborative masterpiece, developed by Chef Pépin alongside Oceania Cruises’ Executive Culinary Directors and Master Chefs of France, Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale. This partnership will introduce innovative flavors while refining the time-honored dishes that have captivated guests since the restaurant’s debut on Marina.
Chef Pépin expressed his excitement:
“I am thrilled to continue the story of Jacques with my esteemed colleagues Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale. This new chapter allows us to experiment with delightful new dishes while preserving the classics our guests adore. We’re excited to share what we’ve been working on.”
Chef Quaretti added:
“Bringing Jacques to our newest ships is an honor, and collaborating with Chef Pépin is a dream come true. We’ve embraced the opportunity to introduce recipes inspired by my own childhood memories while celebrating the essence of classic French bistro dining.”
A Menu to Delight Every Palate
The menu will feature cherished favorites from Jacques on Marina and Riviera, complemented by new additions. Highlights include duck with Grand Marnier-infused orange sauce, veal medallions with morel sauce, and a variety of vegetarian options. Dessert lovers can indulge in timeless French classics such as Crêpes Suzette and profiteroles, alongside other decadent choices.
Dining at Jacques will also become more experiential, with the introduction of tableside service for select dishes like beef tartare. Additionally, new crockery, glassware, and silverware have been thoughtfully selected to enhance the ambiance and embody the art of fine French dining, or “l’art de la table.”
Del Rio concluded:
“Our newest ship, Allura, is a testament to Oceania Cruises’ bright future while honoring our rich culinary history. The addition of Jacques exemplifies this blend of tradition and innovation, offering guests an exceptional dining experience that reflects our passion for excellence.”
