Crystal Confirms New Luxury Ship Order, Expanding Fleet for 2032

Crystal has finalized an order for a state-of-the-art luxury cruise ship, set for delivery in 2032. This new vessel, along with two planned sister ships, will be 61,800 tons and accommodate 690 guests, promising an ultra-luxury experience.

This order comes after Crystal’s owner, A&K Travel Group (AKTG), confirmed plans to add four new ships by 2029. AKTG, which acquired Crystal after its bankruptcy under Genting Hong Kong, is expanding the fleet to include two expedition vessels and two standard ships, joining the recently refurbished Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony.

The new ship, built by Fincantieri, will feature all-suite accommodations with private balconies, plus single-occupancy cabins to cater to solo travelers. The vessel will also maintain one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios, ensuring an unparalleled level of personalized service.

Fincantieri highlighted the vessel’s advanced design, developed by leading international architects, using high-quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship. The ship will also integrate next-generation propulsion technologies, such as LNG and hydrogen, underscoring Fincantieri’s commitment to sustainability.

AKTG executive chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio emphasized the enduring partnership with Fincantieri, a relationship rooted in decades of collaboration. “This third ship represents our shared vision and commitment to excellence,” he stated. Chief executive Cristina Levis added, “We are thrilled to expand our fleet, offering even more ways for our guests to explore the world with Crystal’s unmatched service and style.”

This latest order cements Crystal’s commitment to delivering an elevated cruise experience, blending luxury, sustainability, and innovative design for a new era of ocean travel.
